This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the Miroa iOS and iPadOS application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Miroa does not collect your contacts, Health data, precise GPS coordinates, or the contents of your recordings on our servers. We do not have access to the journal content you store in your private iCloud container.
Camera — record video journal entries.
Microphone — record audio journal entries and the audio in video entries.
Speech Recognition — transcribe your recordings into text on your device.
Location (While Using the App) — add an optional city-level context stamp to an entry. Precise coordinates are not stored.
Face ID / biometrics — lock the app, or individual entries, behind your device biometrics.
Notifications — send your daily recording ritual reminders and flashback prompts, if you opt in.
You can enable or disable any permission in iOS Settings at any time. Revoking a permission only disables the related feature.
All speech-to-text processing happens entirely on your device. The resulting transcript is stored alongside your entry, in the same places your entry is stored (see Section 07).
When you record an entry, Miroa can attach an optional context stamp showing the city and weather conditions at that moment.
Location — we resolve your approximate location to a city-level place name. We do not store precise GPS coordinates, and we do not track your location in the background.
Weather — weather conditions are retrieved via Apple WeatherKit using your approximate location. Apple's use of this data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Context stamps are stored with your entry on your device and in your private iCloud, the same as the rest of your journal.
On-device — your entries' metadata is stored locally using SwiftData. Recording files (video and audio) are stored in the app's private storage on your device.
iCloud / CloudKit (your private container) — if iCloud is enabled, your entries sync through Apple's iCloud infrastructure into your own private container. We cannot access the contents of this container.
Firebase (Google) — authentication, anonymous analytics, crash diagnostics, remote configuration, and push notification delivery.
Mixpanel — anonymous product analytics.
RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement information, alongside Apple.
A future premium feature will let you opt in to AI-generated summaries and insights about your entries. We disclose it here in advance for transparency.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
On-device data remains until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. Note that uninstalling the app does not immediately remove data already synced to your iCloud.
You can delete individual entries at any time. To remove everything, use Profile → Data → Delete Account, which removes your locally stored entries and requests deletion of any cloud-stored account data.
If iCloud is enabled, deletions sync through iCloud, subject to Apple's syncing behaviour.
Data export is planned for a future version. To make a data request in the meantime, contact hello@miroa.app.
Your recordings stay on your device and in your private iCloud. You can additionally protect the app, or individual entries, with Face ID. Data transmitted to our service providers is encrypted in transit using TLS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Miroa is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. When personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards are used as required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. The legal basis for our processing is your consent and the performance of our agreement with you. Contact hello@miroa.app to make a request.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and provide additional notice where required by law.
